Ben T. Sather

Ben Sather was born and raised in Havre, Montana.  After graduating from Havre High, Ben attended the University of Montana, graduating with a degree in business administration.  Ben stayed in Missoula, attending law school at the University of Montana.

While in law school, Ben served as a legal clerk for the United States Senate Finance Committee.  He also worked as an intern for the Missoula County Attorney as a prosecuting attorney for two years.  While there, Ben prosecuted a wide variety of criminal charges in Missoula County, trying many cases to juries and judges.  During Ben’s third year of law school, Ben was selected as a clinical intern for United States Federal Magistrate Leif Erickson.

Following law school, Ben served as a law clerk for the Montana Supreme Court, working with Justices James Nelson, Jim Rice, and W. William Leaphart.  Ben worked closely with the justices of the Court and other law clerks, developing superior legal research and writing skills while learning the intricacies of appellate practice in Montana.

After his clerkship, Ben Sather practiced with the private law firm of Christensen Fulton & Filz, PLLC, in Billings, focusing on representing individuals in automobile accident claims, wrongful death claims, and product liability claims.  Ben also has represented families and businesses in commercial litigation, including estate and contract disputes.

Ben is the current President of the Yellowstone Area Bar Association.  Ben was elected by the Board of Directors and was confirmed by the Association’s 400 attorney members.  Ben is also a member of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association.

Ben formed Sather & Holm, PLLC, with Eric Holm in February 2013.  Ben continues to focus on representing individuals in personal injury and insurance claims, along with general commercial litigation.

Eric E. Holm

Eric Holm was born in Lovell, Wyoming, just south of Billings, Montana.  Eric earned an Honors Degree from Georgetown College, studying environmental science and political science.  During college, Eric was the managing editor of the student newspaper.

Eric earned his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law in Missoula, Montana.  During law school, Eric was an active member of the American Association for Justice and interned at a private law practice in Havre, Montana, focusing on personal injury, wrongful death, contract, and products liability cases.

In Billings, Eric was employed for several years by a civil litigation defense firm practicing personal injury law, employment law, insurance defense, and civil litigation.  He then joined another civil litigation firm in Billings, representing injury and accident victims, employees and employers in discrimination and wrongful discharge cases, and individuals and businesses in commercial and contract litigation.  Eric started the law office of Sather & Holm, PLLC, with Ben Sather in 2013.

Eric Holm practices in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, employment and discrimination law, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation in the Billings area and throughout the state of Montana.  Eric has been a featured speaker at seminars such as Labor and Employment Law: Best Practices for Public and Private Employers, and Montana Trial Lawyers Association, Making Your Case: Practice Tips from the Bench and Bar.

Eric is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts in Montana, plus the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association, State Bar of Montana, Yellowstone Area Bar Association, and American Bar Association.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting in Montana’s great outdoors with his wonderful wife and their two dogs.  Eric is active in the community and a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the Good Earth Market Co-op.
